OVERVIEW

Many resistance training programmes are designed with aesthetics in mind. Whilst improving a person's muscular tone and density may be necessary for various health benefits, unfortunately for many, this can be done at the expense of posture and muscular balance and could increase the risk of injury, particularly to the shoulder.

This course will introduce you to the science of upper back training with considerations of the anatomical and biomechanical factors that influence excellent shoulder health and performance.

You'll learn a range of upper back progressions that you can integrate into your existing resistance training programmes while ensuring there is an appropriate balance in the upper back and shoulders; in addition, an corrective exercise therapy model that will allow you to develop corrective exercise programmes to address muscle imbalances in the upper back and shoulders.
